5-Day Equine Therapeutic Youth Summer Camp, June 9 - 27, 2025 in Alvin, Texas from 9 AM - 3 PM. Attendees will be youth from ages 8-16 who have been trauma impacted. It's a hands-on summer experience where horses help build confidence, emotional awareness, and teamwork blended with equine therapeutic fun activities, including horseback riding, obstacle courses, mindfulness exercises, journaling and group discussions. Campers will learn horsemanship, develop communication, leadership skills and learn to overcome their challenges.

Our Story
In the heart of Texas, where the equestrian spirit thrives, CasSaundra Johnson's dream came to life in April 2023 with the founding of New Life Equine Therapy Facility. Fueled by a deep passion for both people and horses, CasSaundra's journey began in Fort Worth, where she raised her four children and longed for more mentors in the community. Recognizing a scarcity of willing volunteers to guide and support the youth, the seed of a mentoring organization was planted.
However, the flame of passion truly ignited when CasSaundra returned to her roots in Houston. Immersed in the vibrant equestrian and youth communities, she envisioned a harmonious blend that could make a lasting impact. The realization struck: a safe, holistic environment that would unite humans and horses to aid in the healing of trauma-affected youths and families.
New Life Equine Therapy Facility emerged as the embodiment of this vision—a 501c3 Non-Profit organization dedicated to the transformative power of the equestrian lifestyle. CasSaundra's commitment to creating a space where mentorship, healing, and the majestic presence of horses intersect is at the core of New Life's mission.
Here, in the sprawling landscapes of Texas, the facility stands as a beacon of hope. Through equine therapy, it seeks to mend the wounds of trauma and nurture a sense of belonging. The story of New Life is one of resilience, compassion, and the enduring bond between humans and horses, echoing in the hearts of those who find solace within its gates.

CasSaundra Johnson, Founder/Executive Director, Senior Equine Assisted Therapy Instructor
CasSaundra is first and foremost the mother of four adult children and an incredibly experienced and dedicated individual, with a wealth of knowledge and skills in various fields. Her background in mentoring and working with trauma-impacted youth (at-risk youth) for over 30 years demonstrates her commitment to making a positive impact on young lives. This extensive experience equips her with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by young people and effective strategies for supporting them.
Additionally, CasSaundra is a member of the Manvel Lions Club and Alvin-Manvel Chamber of Commerce. She has worked with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, as a Team Hope Volunteer to help families in crisis with a missing, sexually exploited, or recovered child, as they handle the day-to-day issues of coping and /or searching for their child. She's received countless hours of training from organization such as, Justice for Families, Community Leadership Institute, Spirit Horse International and over 30 years in the medical field, spanning from nursing to chemical and clinical laboratory skills. These skills showcase her versatility and expertise in her level of care for family and community. This background provides her with valuable insights into holistic care, empathy, and understanding of clients and their families' needs during challenging times.
Furthermore, her 20 years of Relationship-Based Horsemanship suggest a passion for leveraging the unique bond between humans and horses to facilitate healing and personal growth. Equine Therapeutic Assistance can be a powerful tool for individuals facing various challenges, including emotional, mental, and behavioral issues.
Overall, CasSaundra's diverse background and extensive experience makes her uniquely qualified to lead the New Life Equine Therapy Facility. Her blend of mentoring skills, medical knowledge, and horsemanship expertise enables her to create a supportive and transformative environment for trauma-impacted young people (at-risk youth) ages 8-18 and other individuals seeking healing and personal development.

Katrina comes to New Life Equine Therapy with a GREAT LOVE FOR FAMILY, PASSION for animals and a background of over 30 years in Health Care as a RN.
Combined the New Life Equine Therapy Team brings over 90 years of health care training and experience to deliver a unique and effective Therapeutic Program bring hope and healing enhance their client's quality of life through Equine Assisted Therapy.
